National Technology Manager – Mulgrave Office, Victoria

About the Role

This is a senior national role reporting to the CEO and would have overall responsibility for the architecture, deployment and management of all internal networks, data centres and public cloud operations in use by the company, both for internal operations as well as for delivery of applications and services to the company’s customers.  

In this role you will:

  • Be involved in the strategic planning of the business as it relates to the delivery of technology solutions to the market and for internal use
  • Create, execute and manage plans for the technology requirements of the Company in conjunction with the CEO and other members of the management team in accordance with the strategic plan
  • Create and manage the annual budget for the technology requirements of the Company
  • Architect, implement and support the technology infrastructure needed to execute the Company’s business
  • Employ and manage the resources required to architect, implement and support the infrastructure, the Company’s internal users and the Company’s customers using the services provided by the Company
  • Ensure that the services provided by the Company to it’s customers are delivered professionally, timeously, in accordance with the terms of customer contracts and using industry standard best practices
  • Plan, manage and implement security and disaster discovery solutions to ensure protection of the systems and data
  • Source and manage external vendors as needed and in accordance with the above mentioned plans and budgets

About You

You would have extensive experience in this technology space and:

  • you will have been extensively involved in the architecture and deployment of data centres and public clouds
  • you are a proficient manager
  • you have strong project co-ordination skills
  • while you would build a team around you, you would still be comfortable getting "hands on" in all aspects of the responsibilities you are accountable for

For this role the following is desirable:

  • 5 years in a senior infrastructure role
  • A relevant technology tertiary qualification
  • Certification in Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare technologies
  • A strong understanding of business applications and the IT infrastructures needed to support them
  • Technical expertise in DB design and administration
  • Previous experience of leading architecture teams
  • Extended IT architecture and deep-dive experience in enterprise technology architecture
  • Strong understanding on all security technologies, particularly in: Firewalls, IPS/IDS, Content Filtering, Email Gateway, Tokens and Authentication, Data Loss Prevention, SIEM & Antivirus / spyware, ISE
  • Technical expertise in design/delivery of server and storage, disaster recovery, end user computing, Cloud services, and data centre solutions
  • Working knowledge of emerging and enterprise technologies, and all functions within architecture and solution domains
  • Experienced in roadmap and strategy development; IT vendor engagement; and in management across multiple disciplines
  • Possess sound business acumen inclusive of financial and contract management
  • Have a sound understanding of IT management and architecture methods such as SOA, TOGAF, ITIL, and ITSM
  • Exhibit excellent skills in communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem solving
